Happy New Year - From Rocktown

Hope you all had a good New Year's Day. As you've probably noticed, the Rocktown website has been completely overhauled to give it a brand new look for 2009.

There's more content than before and hopefully the navigation will be a bit easier.

The only thing we lack on the site as of this moment is the content for the Rocktown staff page. We'll be gathering information about our crew; little know personal facts, likes, dislikes, fetishes, and foibles, information that has gone otherwise undetected by friends, fellow climbers and the ubiquitous web world. Sure, it's going to be a little bit embarrassing but we're all friends here right? Who's to judge?

I'd like to remind everyone that we still have the EVEREST CLUB challenge going on until June 1, 2009. That means you have 5 full months of climbing to reach the height of Everest at the gym. As a quick reminder, here's what it's all about...

You log your vertical footage for every route you climb at Rocktown. Your progress will be updated weekly in a spreadsheet and the top 10 will be noted in the gym on our Everest Club Board. When you reach the one-vertical-mile marker (5280' climbed) you receive an Everest Club t-shit. Everyone who reaches the summit of Everest (29,035') by the end of the challenge (6/1/09) will have a chance to win an ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP.

So how much does it cost? A mere $20.

We have one person who has already reached the summit and several others who are nearing the summit. You have plenty of time to start - so come on - what are you waiting for?
